Contact Lenses
Contact lenses have become an excellent alternative to spectacles, offering great comfort and very sharp vision. They are particularly useful in all types of sports and for those whose work does not always suit the use of spectacles.
Recent advances in contact lens technologies mean that they are now sharper, more comfortable and cheaper than ever. The main types of lenses are soft lenses and are broken down into the following categories:
- 1-Day Disposable: Perfect for the occasional wearer of contact lenses, these are put in as a fresh pair, worn for the day and then thrown away when removed. They are a very hygienic and hassle-free way of contact lens wear.
- Monthly or 2-weekly disposable: These lenses are reused for either a month or 2 weeks and then disposed of. They need to be cleaned and stored in solution every night. These are a good option for someone who wants to wear lenses every day as they work out slightly cheaper then 1-day lenses.
- Extended Wear Lenses: These lenses are worn on a continuous basis for the time they are designed for (i.e. either one week of one month). This means that you sleep in the lenses. Ideal for people who want to put in contact lenses and then forget about them.
